If you found me here through Kit, The Confident Woman Podcast, one of my books, or a recommendation from someone you trust, I’m glad you’re here. I’m Rachel Brooks, an author, podcast host, founder of The Confident Woman, and digital entrepreneur. For years, this Kit site was home to The Confident Woman Weekly, a Thursday letter about faith, identity, confidence, purpose, success, and what it means to build a life that looks good on the outside without losing yourself inside it. The letter mattered. It also changed, because I did. The last several years have made the questions more personal. I’ve been writing through grief, healing, the pressure to keep holding everything together, the cost of proving your worth through success, and the uncomfortable gap between the woman you were and the woman you’re becoming. I’m less interested in offering women another polished answer and more interested in having the honest conversation underneath what we’re living. Who are you when the roles change? What happens when the life you worked so hard to build no longer fits? How do you keep following God when the ground beneath you shifts? What does freedom look like when it begins within? That is where Create Your Own Story came from. It is now the ongoing home for my weekly essays and the place where I write in real time about faith, identity, confidence, grief, healing, purpose, becoming, and redefining success without losing yourself. Read and subscribe to Create Your Own Story The Confident Woman Podcast is the spoken side of that same conversation. Each week, I take what I am living, questioning, learning, and becoming and speak it in my own voice, because sometimes you do not need another formula. You need to hear someone tell the truth about what this season actually feels like. Listen to The Confident Woman Podcast I’m keeping this Kit space because staying connected by email still matters to me. When you subscribe here, I can write to you directly, bring you into the newest Create Your Own Story conversation, share a podcast episode or piece of work that may help you, and let you know when I’ve created something worth placing in your hands. What you will not get is content created simply to keep another platform full. I’m not rebuilding two weekly publications or copying every essay into two different homes. The public writing here will be intentional, evergreen, and useful for understanding who I am and what this work holds. The living weekly conversation will continue on Create Your Own Story. If you are the woman who has spent years being responsible, dependable, and strong while quietly wondering where you went inside all of it, this work is for you. If you know God is asking you to rebuild, but you do not want to recreate the same life with a different label, you are in the right place. If you are tired of measuring your worth by what you can carry, accomplish, or prove, you are not alone. Start wherever the conversation meets you: read Create Your Own Story, listen to The Confident Woman Podcast, or visit my website to see the books, resources, and work behind it all. Start reading I am still living this story, too. I do not have every part tied into a neat ending, and I am not interested in pretending I do. But I know the questions I am willing to keep asking, the truth I am no longer willing to abandon, and the kind of woman I want beside me while we figure out what comes next. Welcome. I’m glad you found your way here. XO, |
I write for the woman rebuilding after grief, pressure, performance, and the life she thought she’d have—honest conversations about faith, identity, confidence, freedom, purpose, healing, and becoming.

I’ve been thinking about the identity crisis that can happen when you realize you’re no longer fully who you were, but you don’t completely know who you’re becoming yet either. It’s a strange place to find yourself because the old patterns and ways of living are starting to lose their grip, while the new rhythms still feel...
Real Talk. Raw Truth. Faith-Fueled Confidence. When Becoming Feels Like Falling Apart Prefer to listen? Listen to Episode 383 of The Confident Woman Podcast. I've been sitting with this thought ever since a recent community call with my inner circle. In the conversation, we were talking about growth and becoming, and one question that's stuck with me since then is this: what do you actually do when you're in the middle of it? I mean the waiting, the trusting, your relationship with God when...
Real Talk. Raw Truth. Faith-Fueled Confidence. What Is This Costing You? Read on my website Every year around my birthday, I start collecting my thoughts. I don't always sit down and write them right away, but I start gathering them in my head, what I'm feeling, what I've learned, what I'm ready to release, and more than anything, what I actually want to carry into the next year of my life. This year felt different. I had all these thoughts floating around, and then something happened, and it...
