Now What Do I Build?

Now What Do I Build?

Read on my website

There's a question I've been sitting with lately.

Not the "Who am I now?" question I've spent the past year processing. But the one that comes after.

"Now what do I build?"

Because here's what no one tells you about reinvention: Rebuilding your identity doesn't automatically tell you how to rebuild your life. Or your business.

In fact, sometimes it makes it harder.

Because the version of you who built what you had before? She's not who you are anymore. And what worked for her doesn't work for who you're becoming.

If you've been listening to The Confident Woman Podcast this past year, you know we've walked through deep identity work together. Grief. Loss. The messy middle. The "who am I now?" season.

But today, we're turning a corner.

Because there comes a point where you have to stop just processing and start building. And that's where I am. That's where we are.

For the longest time, I thought reinvention meant starting over. Wiping the slate clean. Becoming someone completely new.

But that's not what's happening.

Reinvention isn't about becoming someone new. It's about building from who you've become.

And that distinction? It changes everything.

When you rebuild your identity, your values shift. Your priorities change. What you're willing to tolerate shrinks. What you're willing to protect expands.

And suddenly, the business you built before—the offers, the structure, the way you were showing up—it doesn't fit anymore.

Not because it was wrong. But because you're different now.

Scripture For The Soul

"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans." — Proverbs 16:3

Surrender the old blueprint. Trust Him with the new one.

3 Action Steps To Break Free

1. Acknowledge You Can't Rebuild the Old Business with a New Identity

The business I built five years ago was built by a different version of me. A version who was people-pleasing. Proving. Performing. Trying to be everything to everyone.

And the business reflected that. Multiple offers. Content everywhere. Saying yes to every opportunity.

It worked for her. But it doesn't work for me now.

Your action this week: Write down honestly—what parts of my business were built by who I was, not who I'm becoming?

2. Apply Ruthless Simplification

When your life gets stripped down to what's essential, you realize how much you were carrying that you didn't need.

I didn't choose to simplify my life. Grief forced it. Loss demanded it. I didn't have energy for complexity. I didn't have bandwidth for things that drained me.

And you know what happened? My life got clearer. My message got stronger.

So I started asking: What if I applied the same ruthless simplification to my business?

What if instead of ten offers, I had one? What if instead of posting on five platforms, I focused on one? What if instead of saying yes to every opportunity, I only said yes to what aligned?

Your action this week: Ask yourself—what would simplification look like if I applied it ruthlessly to my business?

3. Get Clear on Who You're Actually Building For

This one's uncomfortable. But it's true.

When you change, your audience might change too. And that's okay.

You can't serve everyone. And trying to will kill you.

For years, I was trying to be all things to all women. Fitness. Identity. Confidence. Business. Life. Faith. And it was exhausting. Because I wasn't clear on who I was actually serving.

But this year forced clarity.

I'm not here to help every woman find confidence. I'm here to help faith-fueled women who are building businesses simplify the chaos so they can create something sustainable.

That's specific. That's clear. And it means some people won't resonate anymore.

Your action this week: Define in one sentence—who am I actually called to serve?

3 Points To Ponder

Take some time this week to sit with these questions. Journal on them. Pray over them. Let them challenge what you've been believing:

  1. What am I carrying from the old version of my business that no longer fits who I'm becoming?
Not just opportunities or tasks—but expectations, identities, and ways of being that don't align anymore.
  2. What would simplification look like if I applied it ruthlessly to my business?
If you could only focus on ONE thing for the next 90 days, what would it be? And what would you have to release to make space for it?
  3. Who am I actually called to serve—and am I trying to serve too many people?
The riches are in the niches. Get specific. One sentence. Write it down.

Real Talk. Raw Truth. Faith-Fueled Confidence. The Version of Freedom Nobody is Selling You Read on my website I want to talk about freedom today. Not the way the word gets thrown around in the online space, because honestly, it has been so overused and oversold that it has lost almost all of its meaning. There was a season in my life where I had what the online business world calls the dream. I had a business that was running. I had income coming in consistently. I had the flexibility and...

Real Talk. Raw Truth. Faith-Fueled Confidence. The One Question That Changes How You Build Read on my website Here's something I need you to actually sit with today. When I finally asked this question myself, it changed everything about how I build. Not just the business. Literally. Everything. Are you building toward the life you actually want, or are you building away from the one you're afraid of? Because those two things can look identical from the outside. Same hours, same effort, same...

Real Talk. Raw Truth. Faith-Fueled Confidence. You've Been Fixing the Wrong Thing Read on my website You've rebuilt it twice. Same result. And you're starting to wonder if the problem is actually you. I spent years watching other people build lives I wanted and convincing myself they had access to something I didn't. Some gift, some advantage, some version of faith or clarity or confidence that just hadn't found me yet. It took me a long time to realize the only thing standing between me and...
